Heeft Jan wel de goeie accountant?

‘Ik ben een ontwerper en houd me niet bezig met de boekhouding…’ is het verweer dat Jan des Bouvries aanhaalt om aan te geven dat hem niets te verwijten valt. De secretaresse zou op eigen initiatief de omschrijving op een factuur achteraf hebben gewijzigd waardoor zijn vastgoed vriend de BTW voor prive uitgaven zou kunnen terug vorderen. Tja, wat moet je hier nu van zeggen? Was hier een rol voor de accountant weggelegd en in hoeverre had een accountant dergelijke wijzigingen die onverantwoord zijn tijdig kunnen opmerken? Of heeft Jan een accountant die juist de souplesse en ruime blik heeft die past in de wijze waarop het Arsenaalse met elkaar zaken doet? Ik kan me namelijk goed voorstellen hoe de handel en wandel er in dat soort kringen aan toe gaat.
Dat Jan het afschuift op zijn secretaresse onder het mom van ik ben de ontwerper is wat kort door de bocht. Neemt niet weg dat de wijze waarop Jan is behandeld mijns inziens ook weer niet de schoonheidsprijs verdient. Dat had op een integere wijze via de achterdeur ook uitgezocht kunnen worden. Dat de overheid en de belastingdienst zo hard trekken aan standaarden kan ik me voorstellen. Transparantie in de gehele verwerkingsketen van de administratie is voor hen key. 
Nu komt Jan er waarschijnlijk wel mee weg maar stel dat via een verplichtte audit trail de vinger in een keer op de zere plek wordt gelegd. Daarbij een accountant die het convenant heeft getekend voor horizontaal toezicht en alle ogen zouden direct op de hen zijn gericht. Misschien op dit moment maar even Jan niet als klant willen hebben. En als ie aan de deur klopt er eens goed over nadenken of je deze handel wen wandel in het gareel gaat krijgen met standaarden en online samenwerken. Ik denk het niet!
