Drie personen waarvan ik wat gelezen cq. gehoord heb vandaag die mij hebben geboeid. En dat dan combineren met de gedachte dat applicaties evolueren naar kleine web apps die samen weer een grotere app vormen in een mash met talloze verschijningsvormen. Op Pete Cashmore’s blog (@mashable met meer dan 2 miljoen volgers) geeft hij in Bloomberg een uitleg over Facebook’s strategie hoe haar tentakels op het internet meer te verspreiden. 
Hoe meer grip te krijgen op het internet waarbij zelfs wordt gesproken over ‘the next Google’. Hij legt uit waar Facebook aan denkt wat met al haar informatie te gaan doen. Misschien heb je ze wel eens zien staan, die kleine ‘thumb up’ buttons waarmee wordt aangegeven of een artikel of website leuk is, niets meer of minder. Dit gecombineerd met alle info waarover Facebook beschikt van tientallen miljoenen individuen geven een ongekende macht. De macht om uitsluitend al een ‘log-in’ web app te lanceren waarmee mensen zich aanmelden op een website. Vervolgens past deze website zich geheel aan naar jouw persoonlijke interesses en die van jouw vrienden. Ik zag tevens een video van @vincente waar hij spreekt op een gebruikersdag van de mastodont SAP. Interessant hoe hij aangeeft dat het verwerken van transacties nu wel zo’n beetje geregeld moet zijn en alle gestructureerde en feitelijke informatie die dit oplevert slechts 25% van de totale waarde vertegenwoordigen. Het gaat nu juist om al die ongestructureerde informatie die via het internet te verzamelen is die interessante connecties en dwarsverbanden oplevert. Terecht dat hij zich afvraagt waarom er geen eenvoudige plug-in bestaat die alle bestaande bedrijfs- en persoonsgegevens combineert met informatie die opgeslagen staat in Facebook, LinkedIn en Hyves. En dan het telefoongesprek dat ik vandaag had met een oude rot in het vak Hans Appel die het al had over de waarde van forums en communities begin jaren ’90. Met hem had ik het kort over kleine web apps die in een mash met elkaar een applicatie vormen toegespitst op groepen of zelfs individuen. Hij gaf die web app een nog betere omschrijving alszijnde een stukje informatie dat op talloze manieren wordt gepresenteerd, gebruikt en aangeroepen door andere web apps of mashes. Hmmm, maar wat heeft dat dan te maken met rating door accountants om de kredietwaardigheid van MKB-ers te beoordelen?
Wel, ik heb daar het een en ander over gelezen de afgelopen periode en juist als je naar de genoemde mensen luistert en je daardoor laat inspireren ga je dergelijke onderwerpen op een andere manier benaderen. Dan zie je tevens dat de discussie zoals die nu wordt gevoerd door de branchevereniging, de accountants en alle geleerden eromheen er eentje is met een zeer conservatief karakter. Met hetgeen de drie heren zeggen, hoe zou je daarmee een andere kwinkslag aan rating door accountants kunnen geven? Het gaat immers om een stukje informatie waarvan een accountant zegt daarover te beschikken. Kennis, kunde en ervaring op het gebied van financiën in combinatie met feitelijke financiële informatie geëxtraheerd naar een rating waarde die iets zegt over een bepaalde ondernemer. Een stukje informatie waar banken en nog vele anderen best wel behoefte aan hebben om erover te beschikken. Een combinatie van feitelijke informatie en ongestructureerde informatie afkomstig vanaf het internet? Banken gaan altijd prat op het feit ze juist de ondernemer achter de cijfers willen leren kennen. Welnu, de wereld ligt voor u open en ga op zoek naar de reputatie van die ondernemer en zijn onderneming op het internet. Ook u als accountant kunt dat gaan doen. Stel u biedt uw klanten de mogelijkheid om een ‘i like this’ button op hun eigen webpagina te plaatsen waar klanten en toeleveranciers aangeven wel of niet tevreden te zijn over uw klant. Deze informatie combineert u met hetgeen u over die klant weet. Immers u weet precies hoe de klant wordt betaald door zijn debiteuren en hoe op zijn beurt deze de crediteuren weer betaalt. Hier komt UW rating uit die u op allerlei plekken van waarde kan zijn voor zowel u als uw klant. Op hoeveel plekken komt de bedrijfsinformatie van uw klant wel niet voor op het internet die wordt gezocht door haar potentiële klanten en toeleveranciers? Hoe waardevol kan het voor alle partijen zijn als UW rating aangeeft niet alleen feitelijkheden maar juist de reputatie en alle ongestructureerde informatie vanaf het internet? Ik hoor u denken, dat is mooi Appel wat je daar schrijft maar dat mag helemaal niet! Zou kunnen, de moeite waard om dat een nadere te onderzoeken. Graydon en Dun & Bradstreet varen er in ieder geval wel bij en zeg nou eerlijk, is dat informatie die u echt veel wijzer maakt? Kijk hoe Twitter van een kleine web app iets heel groots heeft gemaakt. Eigenlijk niet eens zelf maar door de vele duizenden ontwikkelaars die tegen Twitter aan zijn gaan programmeren. Twitter is open, vrijwel alle informatie kan worden aangeroepen en worden gebruikt. Stel dat ontwikkelaars tegen UW rating web app aan gaan ontwikkelen?
De Cisco van morgen wordt vandaag geboren, Youtube is pas 5 jaar geleden gestart en Twitter is pas het afgelopen jaar echt van de grond af gekomen. Denk anders, denk verder en neem eens voor de aardigheid een kijkje bij Mashable en laat uw gedachten daarna eens de vrije loop.
