Toen ik een jaar geleden binnen mijn kennissen en vriendenkring bekend maakte dat ik voor Twinfield ging werken werd hier en daar met verbazing gereageerd. 
‘Boekhouden, accountancy, dat klinkt niet heel erg spannend..’ waren veel gehoorde reacties. Het is maar net hoe je het bekijkt: Twinfield is een internet bedrijf dat boekhoud abonnementen levert, klinkt al heel anders. Juist binnen een sector die ogenschijnlijk wordt gekenmerkt door tradities en weinig verandering valt mijns inziens veel winst te behalen, zeker op mijn vakgebied: marketing & communicatie. Door erachter te komen wat er daadwerkelijk speelt binnen de sector ben ik al vrij snel op kantoren afgestapt om aan te horen wat er allemaal leeft. Gelukkig veel ondernemers binnen mijn kennissen- en vriendenkring plus zelf ervaring als ondernemer en daarmee ook vanuit dat perspectief een aardig beeld van hoe een accountant door de markt wordt ervaren. Al snel werd mij duidelijk dat er iets van een programma moest worden ontwikkeld dat verder gaat dan alleen maar het implementeren van online boekhouden, innoveren, online samenwerken gaat veel verder en vergt een andere manier van denken richting klanten, de markt, het kantoor en de dienstverlening. Zo werd binnen Twinfield het Vooruitstrevend Denken programma bedacht waar we kantoren ondersteunen bij het omvormen naar een 2.0 kantoor. Een kantoor dat ons inziens optimaal gebruik maakt van de laatste innovaties en technieken op het gebied van internet om nog efficiënter te gaan werken en pro-actief op basis van een marktgerichte propositie nieuwe klanten te werven.
En dat ze er zijn die vooruitstrevende accountants is afgelopen week wel gebleken. Een heuse tweetup geïnitieerd door @ConeyNL doet behoorlijk wat stof opwaaien binnen de sector. Prima omdat het lijkt alsof er binnen, naast, boven of op de reeds bestaande belangenbehartigers een beweging ontstaat met vernieuwende en frisse ideeën. Dat het impact heeft binnen de sector van accountants is op verschillende plekken inmiddels wel te lezen. Maar wat misschien van groter belang is voor u als ondernemer is dat u als klant centraal wordt gesteld. De nieuwe garde aan accountants is het inmiddels beu om vanuit diverse hoeken kritiek over zich heen te laten komen en voor hun gevoel in een defensieve houding te worden gedrukt. Door onder andere pro-actief ’de boer’ op te gaan, ondernemers, de maatschappij en alle andere belanghebbenden transparant te informeren over hetgeen zij als toegevoegde waarde te bieden hebben moet de aanhoudende kritiek de kop indrukken. Sterker nog u als ondernemer moet blij worden van uw accountant, het zien als een ondernemende accountant die met u mee onderneemt. De sector heeft het over een coachende of adviserende rol die zij wil gaan innemen waarbij u wellicht in eerste instantie denkt: daar heb ik geen behoefte aan. Wel, ik denk het wel maar blijkbaar lukt het de sector niet om dit echt handen en voeten te geven. Ik hoor u vragen ‘Maar wat dan, hoe dan, wat gaat mij dat kosten, wat levert mij dat op?’. Ik ben geen accountant maar heb me wel aangesloten bij deze groep van vooruitstrevende accountants omdat ik als marketeer het idee heb toch een bijdrage te kunnen leveren aan de uitdagingen die hen te wachten staan. Samen met onder andere Steef Visser, van het gelijknamige kantoor Visser & Visser, pakken we het onderwerp ‘Presentatie en communicatie’ op waarbij we voor u als ondernemer in heldere en duidelijke taal gaan toelichten wat de toegevoegde waarde van uw accountant gaat zijn in de verschillende levensfases van uw onderneming. U had erbij (verslag door @wilcoschellevis) moeten zijn afgelopen vrijdag in de Van Nelle fabriek, de energie die daar voelbaar was gaf aan dat er daadwerkelijk wat staat te gebeuren. De tweede tweetup (#tuacc) staat inmiddels gepland en als een lopend vuurtje maakt de beweging faam binnen de sector. Prima dat er binnen de sector faam wordt gemaakt maar nu nog vertalen naar voordelen en toegevoegde waarde voor u als ondernemer, dan is de missie wat mij betreft echt geslaagd! Wordt vervolgd.
