10 jaar Twinfield

Het was oktober 2000, ik weet het nog goed. Andre Kwakernaat en Maurice Tijhuis hadden een droom: “We gaan een boekhoudapplicatie maken, online”. Dat zag ik wel zitten, maar op dat moment was mijn vrouw hoogzwanger van ons eerste kindje. Moet ik die stap wel nemen? Twijfel  alom, maar ja, een online applicatie maken en beheren was wel heel innovatief, dat doet nog niemand. Dus was de keuze snel gemaakt: Ga ervoor, dus bij Twinfield aan de slag!

In die tijd was de Rabobank net begonnen met de eerste stappen te zetten om online je rekening informatie te bekijken, sites zoals Amazon, eBay en FedEx waren erg in trek. Hiermee werd het voor iedereen erg makkelijk en eenvoudig om elk boek wat je wilde hebben te bestellen, te zien wanneer je pakket binnen zou komen en gelijk te zien hoe je banksaldo was bijgewerkt en of je nog meer kon bestellen (en als je het van de gezamenlijke rekening had besteld: ook voor je vrouw). In de USA ging men nog verder, daar kon je toen al online pizza’s en cola bestellen, iets wat wij in de beginperiode van Twinfield nog deden door te bellen. Online pizza’s bestellen is inmiddels hier ook doodnormaal geworden…

Als we nu naar Twinfield kijken vinden we dat heel normaal, we zijn gewend geraakt aan het online beschikbaar hebben van onze boekhouding en andere gegevens. Altijd rapporteren over actuele cijfers is voor ons geen onbekend fenomeen, toch? Zo langzamerhand zijn we er aangewend geraakt om alles in de “cloud” te verwerken, social media te gebruiken om oude vrienden weer te “zien” (Facebook.com en Hyves.nl), kaartenbakken online beheren (LinkedIn.com), Twitter gebruiken om met iedereen te delen wat ons bezighoud, hoe we ons voelen. Hoe kunnen we dit nog meer gebruiken in onze online dienstverlening naar onze klanten?

In de afgelopen maand ben ik bij Dreamforce ’10 geweest, “het cloud-computing-evenement van het jaar”, (georganiseerd door Salesforce.com). Wat Salesforce in het afgelopen periode heeft gedaan is juist de online dienstverlening (leveren van een CRM oplossing) combineren met social media en dit beschikbaar gemaakt op meerdere platformen, online in de browser en op allerlei verschillende mobile apparaten zoals de iPhone, Android en iPad. Een sleutelwoord in deze manier van dienstverlening is transparantie: open en voor iedereen beschikbaar. Het meest mooie voorbeeld hiervan vond ik de “community conference”. Een groep van 15 personen, zowel klanten als partners, werd bedankt voor hun bijdrage aan de “community” met een rugzak. Een van de 15 personen had in het afgelopen jaar ongeveer 1.500 klantvragen beantwoord. Nogmaals, het waren klanten en partners, geen medewerkers van Salesforce.

Op de een of andere manier hebben we de behoefte om ons sociale netwerk steeds vaker te gebruiken om zakelijke vragen beantwoord te krijgen. Die trend hebben ze goed gezien bij Salesforce. Wederom loopt de USA weer voorop. De laatste tijd zien we ook bij Twinfield steeds meer vragen en discussies via Twitter, LinkedIn of Facebook binnenkomen. Uiteraard gaan we die zo goed mogelijk beantwoorden. Maar wat nu als het boekhoudkundige vragen zijn, die kunnen in de regel meestal niet door onze supportdesk worden beantwoord. Hierbij komt het op uw vakkennis aan! Is dit niet een uitgelezen kans om u of uw kantoor te profileren? Het gebeurt al en er ontstaat echte online meerwaarde voor de deelnemers aan de gesprekken.

Tot slot, terugkijkend op de afgelopen 10 jaar. In de tweede week van oktober 2000 is onze dochter geboren, momenteel 10 jaar. De ouders van kinderen die net iets ouder zijn, weten welke veranderingen ons te wachten staan. Dat het ons leven gaat veranderen weten we, als je de parallel door trekt naar Twinfield en uw dienstverlening geldt dat ook. De vraag is welke rol u heeft in die verandering.

Waren de laatste 10 jaar inspirerend? Reken maar!

Daarom wil ik hierbij Andre, Maurice en Bert hartelijk danken voor het feit dat ik de afgelopen 10 jaar Twinfield medewerker ben geweest!
